FERC Unitization Fixed Asset Accountant
The objective of this position is to ensure accurate and compliant accounting for energy assets subject to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulations. Responsibilities include identifying and classifying assets, performing unitization calculations, retiring assets, and maintaining fixed asset records. Collaboration with other departments and adherence to FERC guidelines is essential. FERC guidelines training will be provided.
Basic Purpose
This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant unitization of fixed assets in accordance with the FERC regulations. This role involves analyzing and reconciling asset data, performing unitization calculations, retiring assets, and maintaining detailed records related to fixed assets. The position collaborates with cross-functional teams, including finance, engineering, and operations, to support financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform unitization calculations for fixed assets. Ensure compliance with FERC regulations and guidelines during the unitization process. Reconcile discrepancies and resolve inconsistencies in asset records. Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate capitalization of unitized assets. Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to validate asset information. Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company. Performs related duties as assigned.
Essential Education & Skills
Associate degree from an accredited school and one (1) year of accounting related experience.
Three (3) years of accounting related work experience may be substituted for associate degree.
