TEKsystems has a customer that is looking for an experienced Security & Access Control Installer with at least 1 year of experience. All work will be in a Commercial environment- either new construction or retrofit of an existing building. While this position is an Access Control Tech first and foremost, there is the opportunity to learn a wide range of low voltage work including cameras and more.

 

 

Must-Have Skills:

  • Hands-on knowledge and experience with installing, implementing, and servicing commercial access control systems
  • Must be able to read blueprints, specifications, and contract documents
  • Must have ability to install, terminate & test low voltage cables & fiber optical cables (to include twisted pair cable, coax, power limited tray cable, stranded & solid conductor low voltage cable, single-mode & multi-mode fiber optical cables)
  • Must be a team player with a knack for electronics and problem-solving
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Comprehension of terminology pertaining to installation & service of telecom, data, security & wireless systems

Must possess:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent. (Vocational/Technical/Business School strongly preferred.)
  • Ability to follow written & verbal instructions.
  • Positive attitude, works well with others, and can communicate positively with customers.

Duties Include:

  • Use of small hand tools. (must have own basic hand tools)
  • Use of power tools.
  • Heavy physical effort (usually lifting/moving up to 100 pounds).
  • Climbing of stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds.
  • Must work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

 

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Certifications are a huge plus
  • Programming experience is not necessary but is a plus (will train and certify technicians who demonstrate computer aptitude and desire to learn)
  • CCTV/Access Control experience is a plus
