Position Overview:
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the full cycle of the payroll process managed and
facilitated in house for over 100 employees including government reporting and remitting
payroll taxes. This position also supports other functions of the accounting department as
assigned.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process weekly and Monthly payroll for all company employees, including calculation of hours, deductions, garnishments, bonus processing, and payroll taxes.
- Manage the company’s payroll system and ensure all employees' records are maintained accurately and confidentially.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax and labor laws.
- Prepare and submit state and federal payroll tax reports and make timely payments.
- Ensure accurate payment of benefits including health insurance and retirement contributions.
- Ensure proper management and filing of COBRA coverages.
- Resolve any payroll discrepancies promptly and accurately.
- Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure accurate employee data.
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date payroll records.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive employee information.
- Process new hires and terminations in a timely manner.
- Maintain knowledge of current regulations affecting payroll procedures.
- Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Supervision Received: The position is supervised by the Controller and Senior Accountant.

Qualifications & Skills:
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: (unless board exempt)
- Associate’s degree or Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
MINIMUM TECHICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proven knowledge of payroll systems, labor laws, tax laws, and benefits administration.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Proficient with QuickBooks and QuickBooks Time preferred but not required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong multi-tasking and priority-setting skills.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to pass a background check.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree or Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
