We are seeking a part time Payroll Specialist for a client located in Albany, NY. This is in person 3-4 days a week(Mon-Fri). Thisiis a temporary position that has the opportunity to become permanent. 

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

 Performs administrative, and clerical support for visit documentation compliance and payroll processing.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

·       Gather, enter, and review time from assigned branches within the software to create payroll data and verify visits.

·       Processes weekly payroll for all employees

·       Work exceptions between field staff scheduled and worked time and the associated documentation of visits for assigned branches.

·       Assists in the maintenance and preparation of all payroll and billing records for VNHC employees.

·       Makes follow-up calls and meets as needed with field staff to clarify/correct inaccuracies on timesheets and/or Aide Activity Reports.

·       Enters billing hold releases and Worker Notes for all visits marked as non-billable due to documentation issues.

·       Performs electronic and paper billing functions for weekly and monthly invoicing for assigned payors.

·       Prepares rebilling functions as needed or on a monthly basis for assigned payors.

·       Assists with completion of and provides backup to process billing.

·       Complete tasks associated with department projects/daily operations as requested by the manager.

·       Performs any other duties as assigned or requested.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

A.    CHARACTERISTICS: Has willingness and ability to:

·       Operate adding machine/calculator, computer, copier, and fax machines.

·       Organize, assemble, file, and maintain accurate records.

·       Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

·       Attention to detail and ability to work well in hard deadline environments.

·       Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and clients of VNHC.    

B.    EDUCATION: 

·       High School Diploma needed/AAS preferred.

·       Computer and Office Equipment proficiency.

·       One Year of experience in payroll, administrative support, and/or bookkeeping practices

C.    MENTAL APPLICATION:

·       Must be mentally alert and have the ability to plan and organize duties most effectively.

·       Must have the ability to exercise judgment in prioritizing work assignments

·       Must be able to function in stressful situations.

D.    DEXTERITY:

·       Must have manual dexterity use of computers and other office equipment that may be used to carry out work assignments.

E.    ACCURACY:

·       Must be extremely accurate in performing work assignments.

F.     PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

·       The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

·       Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

·       This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift at least 30 pounds, files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand.

G.    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

·       This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.      

H. PERSONAL APPEARANCE:

·       Expected to present a neat and well-groomed appearance.
