Job Description: We are searching for a dedicated Product Engineer to join the dynamic team of a leading manufacturing company in Troy, MI. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the design and engineering of Interior trim components, ensuring they meet rigorous vehicle and component specifications.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and engineering efforts for Interior trim components, collaborating closely with Customer Studio and engineering teams.
  • Provide timely design criteria and feasibility studies to support product development.
  • Support integration of components through participation in design reviews, tooling reviews, and build events.
  • Write work orders using established change processes and facilitate internal Design Reviews.
  • Release math data and drawings according to project milestones and schedules.
  • Establish effective communication channels between customers, internal teams, and suppliers to ensure project success.
  • Ensure designs meet cost, mass, quality, and performance targets.
  • Generate and implement innovative cost-saving ideas.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Interior Product Engineering, preferably with Instrument Panels, Interior trim, and console assemblies.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Experience in Interior component assembly and problem-solving processes.
  • Familiarity with injection molding.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an OEM Design Release Engineer (DRE) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Unigraphics and/or CATIA a plus.
