Job Description: Plant Breeding Research Intern

Overview:
The Plant Breeding Research Intern program offers comprehensive exposure to the daily operations of a research program. Interns will engage in various activities at the research center, including planting, plot maintenance, data collection, and harvesting. Additionally, interns may travel to other locations for specific field-related tasks.

Responsibilities:
- Participate in field plot research, including planting, plot establishment, and maintenance.
- Organize and complete herbicide, fungicide, and insecticide treatments.
- Harvest and analyze samples.
- Collect high-quality data on specific traits under examination.
- Assist with other research center activities as needed.

Compensation:
- Pay rate: $22/hour

Schedule:
- Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with potential overtime and some weekend work during the season.

Qualifications:
- Interest in learning about field research trials related to crop hybrid cultivar development.
- A background in farming is beneficial.
- Strong self-motivation, initiative, and teamwork skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computer use.
