Position Overview:
Allied Reliability is on the lookout for skilled Midstream Mechanical Technicians with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience. This role offers a long-term travel contract opportunity with competitive compensation and per diem for eligible candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on various equipment including gas compressors, air compressors, pumps, internal combustion engines, condenser fans, gearboxes, electric motors, valves, and basic control systems.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify signs of vibration damage, leaks, unusual noises, excessive wear, and corrosion.
- Execute preventative and predictive maintenance according to established schedules.
- Troubleshoot performance issues across a range of equipment.
- Oversee the maintenance and inspection of pumps, compressors, gas engines, and electric drivers.
- Repair or replace compressor valves as necessary.
- Carry out alignment activities on pumps and compressors.
- Replace packing on positive displacement pumps and perform oil and air filter changes.
- Complete equipment overhauls based on manufacturer recommendations.
- Manage pump repairs, including the replacement of mechanical seals, bearings, and inspection of clearances.
- Engage in vibration monitoring of plant equipment.
- Conduct bearing inspections and manage valve repairs.
- Analyze equipment history for trends and repairs.
- Participate in lubrication sampling and reporting.
- Inspect condenser fans and perform necessary repairs.
- Grease and inspect electric motor bearings.
- Participate in defect elimination meetings.
- Demonstrate basic computer skills for effective communication and scheduling.
- Read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, schematics, and blueprints.
- Exhibit knowledge of gas processing and related terminology.
- Understand valve and piping construction, pressure ratings, and specifications.
- Practice and promote safe work practices.
- Instruct others on safe work activities.
- Select and care for tools appropriately.
- Set up new equipment including pumps and compressors.
- Purge facility pipes and equipment as needed.
- Complete and submit all necessary permits related to work activities.
- Execute assigned work orders efficiently.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Industrial or Oilfield experience is essential.
- A minimum of 3 years of mechanical experience with gas compressors, internal combustion engines, and pumps.
- Relevant certifications are preferred.
- Strong communication skills are necessary.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and practices is required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- An associate or technical degree is preferred.
