Agricultural Research Trainee

Position Overview:
The Agricultural Research Trainee program is structured to provide comprehensive exposure to the daily operations of a research initiative.
Trainees in this program will engage in various facets of the research center's activities, which include sowing, plot upkeep, data gathering, and harvesting. There may also be opportunities to travel to different sites to assist with specific field-related assignments.
The selected individual will participate in field plot investigations, including planting, plot setup and maintenance, organizing and executing treatments with herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides, as well as harvesting and analyzing samples and data collection.
A crucial aspect of this role will be the meticulous collection of high-quality data on specific traits being studied by Abacus.
Candidate Requirements:
We seek individuals eager to deepen their understanding of field research trials associated with crop hybrid cultivar development. A background in agriculture is advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate a strong level of self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to collaborate effectively with others. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a solid proficiency in computer applications, are essential.
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with expectations of overtime and occasional weekend work throughout the season.
Medical Clearances Required:
Various medical clearances are necessary, including audiometry and periodic health evaluations.
Remote Work:
This position does not permit remote work; it is strictly onshore.
Work Hours:
Daily hours: 8
Weekly hours: 40
Total hours for the program: 1,056.
