You will be one of the critical people who ensure that the center is safe, clean, and in working order for our students and staff. This will be from minor repairs to snow removal and more. As a Maintenance Engineer at NHJC, you'll be a key player, integral to shaping our students' futures, ensuring the facilities and systems they rely on are in top condition.

What we are looking for

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate of Arts degree from an accredited school or technical certification preferred
  • 5 years’ experience in building maintenance required with knowledge of local building codes, carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems, boilers and other building systems
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred
  • Valid in-state Driver’s license and meet Company insurability requirements
  • Department of Labor approval required
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and ask questions when unclear on what to do.
  • Work effectively as a team member.
  • Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or assess the lift load to ask for necessary assistance. Ability to climb ladders and handle heights.
