Position Overview

The Manager of Engineering Operations is tasked with overseeing the development, enhancement, and maintenance of manufacturing processes within the facility. This role will guide a team of Process and Continuous Improvement Engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage capital expense planning and budgeting.
  • Ensure realization and follow-up of sanctioned projects.
  • Lead and oversee all lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical assistance to various departments.
  • Coordinate projects across different teams.
  • Deliver training and mentorship tailored to project requirements.
  • Support and develop each member of the engineering team.
  • Assess factory capacity in alignment with production demands.
  • Enhance the reliability efforts of the Engineering department by implementing key metrics such as Mean Time Between Failure, aiming to reduce downtime and boost production throughput. Train managers on these metrics.
  • Act as the Site Management of Change coordinator and ESG facilitator.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing cost drivers and continuous cost improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in conducting investigations and benchmarking activities across departments to identify standards and technologies for improvement.
  • Proven ability in team building and collaboration across departments to track targets and results.
  • Experience in setting and managing annual budgets, including approval processes for engineering contracts.
  • Ability to prepare capital requests, recognizing both benefits and risks involved.
  • Familiarity with legal regulations and contractual relationships affecting workplace performance.
Skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in Project Management, with a structured approach to leading projects and managing their status.
  • General technical knowledge across utilities, electronics, mechanical, chemical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics for informed decision-making and performance management.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills, including resource allocation.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in communicating and negotiating in English at a business and technical level.
Travel / Other Requirements
Work will primarily be in a plant environment, with some travel required.
