Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax Manager to join our team. The Tax Manager will play a key role in managing client relationships, overseeing tax compliance and planning activities, and providing strategic tax guidance to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
- Understand clients' businesses and personal financial situations to provide tailored tax advice and solutions.
- Address client inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner, ensuring client satisfaction.
Tax Compliance
- Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, staying abreast of changes and updates.
- Review tax provisions and estimates, including deferred tax calculations and related disclosures.
Tax Planning:
- Develop comprehensive tax strategies to minimize clients' tax liabilities while maximizing tax benefits.
- Provide proactive tax planning advice to clients, identifying opportunities for tax savings and efficiencies.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to implement tax planning strategies effectively.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor tax staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Delegate tasks appropriately, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tax engagements.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing.
Research and Analysis:
- Conduct tax research on complex issues and transactions, interpreting tax laws and regulations.
- Analyze the tax implications of proposed transactions and provide recommendations to clients.
- Prepare memoranda and other documentation to support tax positions and conclusions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on taxation.
- Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
