Job Title: ER Nurse

We are seeking a skilled ER Nurse to join our team at Franciscan Medical Clinic - Gig Harbor - ML. As an ER Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department environment.

Job Summary:

The ER Nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team. You will also perform triage, manage basic life support needs, and stabilize patients until the attending physician is available.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect current symptoms and patient history, and consult with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Perform triage, considering physical and psychosocial elements.
  • Manage basic life support needs and stabilize patients until the attending physician is available.
  • Record patients' current vital signs.
  • Work directly under physicians, assisting them during exams, diagnostic testing, and treatments.
  • Prepare and administer prescribed medications, and record adverse reactions.
  • Provide IV therapy, clean and bandage wounds, and provide basic bedside care.
  • Maintain proper supplies and medical equipment to care for patients.
  • Report any suspected abuse to the appropriate agencies.
  • Initiate patient education plans, as prescribed by physicians.
  • Teach patients and significant others how to manage their illness/injury, explaining post-treatment home care needs, diet/nutrition/exercise programs, self-administration of medication, and rehabilitation.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with current licensure in good standing.
  • Evidence of minimum one year of recent hospital experience in the ER.
  • Evidence of current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS mandatory.
  • TNCC and NIHSS preferred.
