Job DescriptionJob Description

Structural Engineer

National Leader in Wholesale Building Materials seeks an Engineer with experience in structural design, evaluation, and calculations for materials, and building codes.

This position is located about an hour east of Cincinnati and relocation assistance is included.

This position can be Hybrid, once you are up to speed on the position details and working with the team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide structural evaluations/calculations for both residential and commercial exterior applications. General knowledge of Building Science and Building Envelope details, components, and installation techniques.
  2. Lead internal and third-party testing and analysis of products to ensure compliance to applicable building code requirements. Knowledge of the IBC, IRC, and ASCE 7.
  3. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in the development of new and innovative products and applications for the exterior built environment including cladding/siding, railing, and decking applications.
  4. Participation in field investigations of performance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Architectural or Mechanical Engineering)
  • Structural design - commercial and/or residential
  • “Building envelope” experience highly desired
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools (CAD, MATLAB, etc.) and data analysis tools.
  • Project Management Experience Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements relevant to the industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping techniques (3D printing, CNC machining, etc.) is a plus.
