The Controller oversees consolidated financial statement preparation process, global accounting policies and reporting procedures. Provides leadership to financial reporting team and performs ad-hoc management reporting and analysis as required by senior management group. Works with auditors, maintains internal control compliance and manages department budgets.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • This position is responsible for the managing the corporate team as well as accounting teams in Mexico, Ireland and potentially China. Each country has a controller or accounting manager level leading the local accounting who would then report to this role.
  • Direct reports include corporate team of accounting manager, AP manager, and AR manager. Then, accounting leads in Mexico, Ireland and China.
  • Peers to this role are the Director of FP&A, Senior Treasurer and Senior Tax Manager. This role will work each of these peers on items ranging from consolidated management reporting, including the Board of Directors, budgeting, forecasting of costs, cash flow forecasts and information required for tax provisions and compliance.
  • Implementation of new accounting pronouncements and review of unusual transactions for proper account and disclosure.
  • Oversees certain statutory reporting requirements and government compliance reporting.
  • Oversees the activities of the Corporate Accounting Department (general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable) for integration of all accounting issues and services, including accurate and timely financial statement production, billing and account statement production and disclosure development, specifically related to the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico entities as well as Corporate entries, consolidation entries and coordination on intercompany with other countries.
  • Establishes and maintains systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, process, and data, and enhance the Company’s value.
  • Reviews and assessment of valuation reserves (e.g. accounts receivable and inventory) environmental reserves, restructuring reserves, incentives compensation, workers’ compensation, self-insurance reserves and asset impairments (e.g., goodwill and intangibles).
  • Leads accounting for equity transactions, stock compensation and purchase accounting.

  • Proficient with SAP.
  • Proficient and with OneStream is a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field
  • 10+ years’ experience in finance management, financial systems, financial reporting, financial principles, financial analysis, accounting, budget management, strategic planning, and managing direct reports.
  • SAP and One Stream experience.

Physical Requirements & Work Setting:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Hybrid position (3 days required in Cleveland office with option to work up to 5)
  • Office work setting
