The organization is client facing so experience in retail, restaurant or hospitality is a requirement. We are seeking a visionary Facility Director to oversee our facility management department, drive optimization strategies, and lead a team of managers to support our growth and operational excellence.

Job Description:

Position Overview: The Facility Director will be responsible for managing a substantial budget and overseeing the maintenance and optimization of customer-facing retail locations. This role demands a strategic leader who can help the organizations double in size over the next 2 years. The Facility Director will ensure that facilities are efficiently managed, systems are optimized, and teams are developed to support the companys growth and acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and communicate a clear vision for the facilities department aligned with the companys strategic goals.
  • Create and implement strategies to optimize facility operations across 150 plus locations.
  • Lead and inspire a team of facility managers to execute the vision and achieve operational objectives.
  • Develop and manage a large facilities budget including budget strategies that drive cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • Utilize Service Channel or similar CMS platforms to pull data, analyze performance metrics, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Systemize and optimize facility management processes to enhance operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and address root causes of facility issues, moving beyond temporary fixes to implement long-term solutions.
  • Manage and mentor facility managers who, in turn, oversee their own teams.
  • Foster a culture of growth and development, ensuring that managers are equipped to lead their teams effectively.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers.
  • Establish systems and structures for managing vendor performance and ensuring service quality.
  • Negotiate contracts and oversee vendor compliance to achieve optimal service levels and cost efficiency.
  • Plan and execute facility strategies that support the companys growth and acquisition plans.
  • Ensure that facility management practices can scale with company expansion, adapting to increased demands and new locations.

Key Requirements:

  1. Systemizing & Optimizing: Proven track record of implementing systems and processes that lead to significant improvements in facility management and operational efficiency.
  2. Developing Managers: Experience in developing and leading managers, with a focus on nurturing talent and building strong leadership teams.
  3. Scalability & Growth: Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale facility operations and budgets, with a strategic approach to scaling operations in line with company growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in facility management, with a significant portion in a multi-unit retail environment. 5+ years of experience managing a department.
  • Extensive experience presenting to executive team and key stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Service Channel or similar CMS platforms for data analysis and management.
  • Strong strategic, leadership, and problem-solving skills with a visionary approach to facility management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting to executive teams.
