Job DescriptionJob Description

SUMMARY

This is an entry level position. You will assist in supporting and identifying upgrades and deficiencies for all existing automation that resides on the production floor. Additionally, this position will identify, research, and analyze automation opportunities that will enhance and advance the capabilities of the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned

  • Upholds Andis Core Values in all work-related activities.
  • Supports manufacturing and processing equipment design including mechanical, electrical and control systems.
  • Provides control software, hardware, programming, and troubleshooting support.
  • Provides technical support for other manufacturing and maintenance departments as directed by the engineering manager.
  • Design and implement changes to automated equipment to improve overall operational effectiveness.
  • Considers safety in design, work practices, and plant operations.
  • Support problem solving teams to find root cause.
  • Knowledge of UL and NFPA codes and standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Electrical, Computer/Control Engineering is desired. Internship experience in automation controls preferred.
  • A successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with a “hands on approach”.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Have a general understanding of mechanical and electrical components such as valves, pumps, valves, piping, hose fittings, relays, PLCs, motors, motor starters, and robots. Be able to understand the importance of each component within a processing system.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming and supporting software is desired.
  • Understanding of computers, networking and communication protocols used with industrial controllers is desired.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex system tests.
  • CAD/electrical design experience is desired.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude is desired.
