Required Qualifications:
We are seeking a hardworking, dedicated, firm oriented employee, with a positive upbeat attitude that is ready to contribute to the growth of the Company. Computers are heavily used in our practice, so you must be comfortable learning and utilizing new software and procedures. A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required. Prior public accounting experience is preferred, however it is not required.
Job Description:
As a full time staff accountant you will have varied assignments consisting of bookkeeping, workpaper preparation, corporate tax return preparation, personal tax return preparation, and financial statement analysis and preparation. Job duties are tailored and assigned based on your abilities. All staff are thoroughly trained, and as your skills evolve you will be trusted to work on higher level, more difficult tasks, leading to advancement and leadership opportunities within the organization.
Standard work days outside of tax season are Monday through Friday, and during tax season Saturday is also a standard work day. Applicants will spend time working at both our Brighton and Canandaigua offices, and will occasionally travel to clients with other staff to perform accounting services.

VSSC is a public accounting firm with main offices located in Brighton, New York, and satellite offices in Canandaigua, New York. We provide a vast array of services for clients in and out of New York State, with services ranging from payroll processing and bookkeeping, to preparation of tax returns and financial statements. All staff utilize a multiple monitor setup with personal desktop scanners to make us as efficient as possible. Our established paperless environment has helped us streamline our processes and reduce wasteful time thumbing through paperwork.
