We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant (preferably with a CPA background) to join one of Long Island's top CPA firms This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits. Please see below for additional information, and thank you for taking the time to apply.
Your Role:
- Prepare complex financial statements and tax returns for individuals, partnerships, & corporations.
- Perform inputting, bank & credit card reconciliations, and posting journal entries for clients.
- Process employee paychecks for clients, including calculating payroll tax deposit requirements.
- Provide guidance to clients on accounting, tax, and business matters.
- Research and analyze accounting, tax, and business issues.
- Maintain client relationships and communicate all correspondence with your team.
- Participate in the development and implementation of firm policies and procedures.
- Assist in year-end planning for businesses and high-net-worth individuals.
- Assist with training and mentoring of junior staff and bookkeepers.
- Work collaboratively with other members of your team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Experience preparing financial statements & tax returns for individuals, partnerships, & corporations.
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
- Commitment to quality and professionalism.
- Desire to continually learn and improve.
Bonus Points:
- CPA or working towards CPA certification.
- Experience in financial analytics and/or financial modeling.
- Advanced in Microsoft Word, Excel, and/or Power BI.
- Experienced with Lacerte Tax software.
