Position Summary

The Senior Database Analyst / PowerBi Developer’s role is to support the information needs of WellSpace Health through the administration and design/development of Power Bi dashboards. The Senior Database Analyst / PowerBi Developer will assist the Informatics / Business Intelligence team(s) with data management, monitor trends and troubleshoot potential issues with the data collections and databases, implement and evaluate quality improvement metrics, produce performance monitoring reports, and support various research and evaluation projects within the program.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Health Informatics, Data Analytics, Computer Science or in related field (preferred).
  • At least 3 years experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, R Shiny, etc.) required
  • PowerApps and Power Automate experience
  • Proven track record as a Power Platform Developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to build robust applications and automation solutions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI, with expertise in canvas and model-driven apps, flows, connectors, data modeling, DAX, and Power Query.
  • Advanced SQL skills, with the ability to write complex queries and manipulate data effectively.
  • Experience in a health care setting, call center and patient services preferred.
  • Superior analytical skills and proven ability to transform raw data into accurate and useful analytics.
  • Strong interpersonal, knowledge-sharing, and written/oral communication skills.
  • Experience in mining data from multiple data sources to quickly identify important data elements and solve pain points.
  • Superior ability to identify trends, correlations, and patterns in data and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Experience collecting, cleaning, and managing large data sets in Excel, Access, and SPSS/SAS/R required.
  • Experience working with and maintaining multiple databases for the purpose of research and evaluation projects.
  • Experience working with electronic health record systems and other databases.
  • Experience troubleshooting and problem-solving issues with data collection and data quality.
  • Experience with qualitative research (e.g. focus groups, interviews, qualitative analysis) is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to distill results into a few key points and present them clearly, in written, oral and graphical formats to program staff and management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMS).
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills (e.g. descriptive and inferential statistics).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities by being flexible, collaborative, responsive, and adaptable.
  • Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize assignments, meet required deadlines, and reprioritize as needed.
  • Ability to work both independently when needed and collaboratively as a team member.
  • Know and comply with agency policies and procedures, HIPPA, and other state and federal regulations as they apply to this position.
  • Adherence to infection control procedures, including but not limited to, standard precautions of temperature monitoring, hand washing, symptom self-monitoring, masking and social distancing.
  • Assist and support the Center/Department/Program to meet agency standards of High Reliability.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
  • If requested, must be able to provide sample of work to demonstrate skillset and related experience.

 

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative data related to the evaluation of the agency’s program to create clear and actionable narratives about the operations of the program and patient behaviors.
  • Create presentations with analysis and insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate across teams, senior management, business partners and clients at multiple projects simultaneously in facilitating the design, build and automation of reports / dashboards that provide insight into program operations.
  • Administer and own the Power BI Cloud infrastructure
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization to understand business requirements and translate them into effective Power Platform solutions.
  • Design, develop, and deploy business intelligence and automation solutions using the Power Platform suite (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
  • Utilize SQL skills to query and manipulate data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive data models, interactive reports, intuitive dashboards, and streamlined workflows to enable informed decision-making and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Drive the adoption of industry-leading best practices and standards for Power Platform development, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability of applications.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and debugging to identify and resolve issues, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and error-free solutions.
  • Work closely with training department to document processes, instructions, and best practices related to Power Platform development and usage.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on how to utilize Power Platform solutions effectively, empowering them to optimize their workflows and productivity.
  • Stay at the forefront of Power Platform advancements and features, actively seeking opportunities to propose innovative solutions that align with business objectives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for data management (e.g. Importing and exporting data in various applications, cleaning data and resolving data inconsistencies, restructuring and/or merging data sets, running queries on data sets, and preparing data sets for analysis).
  • Coordinate data collection for multiple projects to ensure consistency and quality. This includes producing regular monitoring reports to monitor data collection and data entry across multiple projects.
  • Produce periodic performance monitoring reports for several programs and services, which include data cleaning, management, and analysis in R and/or Excel.
  • Manage and prioritize workload between multiple departments while meeting deliverables and expectations in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate continuous data quality improvement projects related to data collection and data entry.
  • Interpret and convey quantitative data related to the program through Microsoft PowerPoint/Excel and/or other data visualization tools to enhance the ability of staff to make operational decisions within the program.
  • Coordinate with team members to design, manage, and conduct evaluation projects, including development of evaluation designs, goals, objectives, and instruments.
  • Develop written reports, presentations, and data dashboards of evaluation findings for internal and external audiences.
  • Train new research assistants on procedures and policies.
  • Participate in training staff on administering and collecting outcome measures.
  • Consult with individual program staff regarding administration and scoring of various outcome measures.
  • Other tasks include: conducting literature reviews, qualitative data collection and analysis, and other research duties as needed.
