Key Performance Indicators

  • Ability to identify potential opportunities for technical design improvement and contribute to the implementation of said improvements within the AWS Cloud.

  • 100% Response to customer/internal support escalations within SLA requirements (where assigned).

  • Participation in daily/weekly huddle(s) and IT planning meeting(s) to ensure appropriate fixes and designs are implemented in accordance with internal security standards and customer needs.

  • Build, maintain, and update automation scripts, processes, and procedures in a clear and understandable manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain cloud native solutions within the AWS Cloud.

  • Influence Cloud Team members through various technical discussions and collaboration with other teams.

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for cloud and virtualization architecture and platforms.

  • Assist in cloud migration and implementation strategy planning.

  • Develop and maintain a library of deployable, tested, and documented automation design scripts, processes, and procedures.

  • Collaborate with the Software Development team, IT infrastructure staff, and Help Desk Staff to facilitate communication and development of Cloud-based initiatives.

  • Conduct biannual cloud security penetration testing, provide project updates including action items related to continuous improvement for IT Security.

  • Maintain a current understanding of major services and capabilities offered by AWS.


Job Overview and Requirements

  • Work Hours: Full Time

  • Training for position: Formal and Informal

  • Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree or relevant working experience. AWS certification preferred.
    Required Experience: Familiarity with AWS architecture design and services (EC2, Elastic Container Service, S3, RDS (Aurora MySQL), OpenSearch/ElasticSearch, API Gateway, Lambda, ElastiCache, SQS). Familiarity with AWS native IaC platforms (AWS CDK, AWS SAM). Familiarity with fundamental concepts of CI/CD (Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipeline, Github Actions). Strong understanding of application containerization using Docker. Familiarity with database optimization and schema design. Experience monitoring and maintaining production databases. Understanding of authentication and authorization using Active Directory, AWS IAM, LDAP, 2FA/MFA, and SAML/SSO. Strong understanding of core cloud networking concepts (VPC, subnets, security groups, ect). Strong understanding of Python programming Linux Bash scripting. Experience using API tooling such as Postman and cURL. Experience documenting solutions, fixes, and bugs in a clear and concise manner.

  • Locations: Overland Park, KS - This is an on site position 3 days in office, 2 days WFH
