Position Summary:

The Data Strategy Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the company's master data management efforts. This role requires expertise in SQL coding, technical specification development, data analytics, and experience with Cognos and Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS). Key Responsibilities:

  1. Master Data Management:

    • Develop and implement MDM strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality and consistency.
    • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and governance of master data across the organization.
    • Collaborate with departments to understand data needs and provide solutions to enhance data integrity.

  2. Technical Expertise:

    • Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
    • Develop technical specifications and documentation for MDM initiatives.
    • Utilize Cognos for reporting, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
    • Manage and optimize the use of Oracle EBS for master data processes, ensuring seamless data integration and flow.

  3. Data Governance:

    • Establish and enforce data governance policies and standards.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and data privacy laws.
    • Monitor data quality metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.

  4. Analytics and Reporting:

    • Develop and implement data analytics solutions to support business operations and strategic decision-making.
    • Utilize Cognos to create and manage comprehensive reports and dashboards.
    • Analyze data trends and provide insights to stakeholders.

  5. Project Management:

    • Lead MDM projects from conception through implementation, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
    • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
    • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.

  6. Stakeholder Collaboration:

    • Work closely with business units to understand their data requirements and challenges.
    • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to support data-driven decision-making.
    • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business users to translate technical requirements into business solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Master's degree is a plus.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in master data management, data governance, or related fields.
    • Proven experience with SQL coding, technical specification development, data analytics, Cognos, and Oracle EBS.
    • Prior management or leadership experience preferred.

  • Skills:

    • Strong understanding of MDM principles, practices, and technologies.
    • Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying.
    • Ability to develop and interpret technical specifications.
    • Proficiency in Cognos for reporting and analytics.
    • Extensive experience with Oracle EBS and its data management functionalities.
    • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
