About Reading In Motion:
Founded over 40 years ago, Reading In Motion (RIM) is an arts-based, results-driven literacy organization that gets students reading at grade level or above within the first years of school, especially those students whose environment or circumstances put them in greater need of support.
Position Overview:
The Partnership Development Associate is a remote, salaried position responsible for the development, growth and maintenance of our partnership portfolio, including but not limited to prospective and existing school and community partners. Outbound sales and marketing initiatives are a key role of this position. This position is grant funded.
Essential Functions:
Vision
Build and develop strong relationships with schools, educational organizations, community service providers, administrators and educators, in an effort to strengthen grade level literacy in students Pre-K through third grade.
Promote the key benefits of Reading In Motion, the mission, our programs and services, within the educational and literacy support communities.
Strengthen the Reading In Motion brand at every step of the way
Partnership Development and Management
Cultivate and foster relationships with key stakeholders including but not limited to principals, superintendents, literacy directors, family service providers, individual supporters, and community sponsors.
Cultivate partnerships with organizations and groups committed to literacy, education, training, and professional development, creating awareness and new opportunities.
Develop and coordinate student, school, community and stakeholder events.
Communicate with the Programs and Development Teams to explore and act on new partnership opportunities.
New Business Development
Communicate directly with schools, districts, community service providers, state departments, charters, private organizations, donors, educators, and the general public to form strong partnerships and promote and grow our literacy programs.
Conduct direct, outbound sales initiatives - emails, calls, video conferences, text and social media messaging to generate leads and process through our sales channel.
Secure meetings for our Engagement Managers and be comfortable attending sales meetings alone when necessary (post training).
Identify prospects through various lead generation activities, including direct marketing, advertising, cold-calling on key decision makers, and tradeshow/community events.
Research and gather information on prospects to understand their purchase decision makers, decision making process, and their key needs and challenges.
Develop and manage our contact lists and lead generation database.
Other duties as assigned.
Candidate Requirements and Competencies:
Expert in outbound sales, partnership development, and relationship management
Highly developed organizational and project management skills
Superior written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of digital sales and marketing channels/strategies
Remote position requires a highly motivated, self-starter with excellent communication skills and a high level of initiative
Familiarity working within Google Workspace and with a CRM - preferably Hubspot
Nonprofit work experience is a plus.
A proven history of working effectively and building relationships with key stakeholders including educational leaders, service organizations, private businesses and non-profit community organizations
Passion for literacy and engaging community members, motivating partners and stakeholders around the mission of improving learning, reading and opportunities for children
Passion for Reading In Motion’s mission and the ability to thrive in a collaborative and evidence-based environment
Bachelor’s degree required (with preferable concentration in marketing or business) with strong background in sales or business development
Experience working with, and working knowledge of the processes of schools, districts and non-traditional school systems; including charter schools and independent Pre-K programs is helpful but not mandatory
