Summary/Objectives:

The quality manager position along with the quality engineering manager in MI to develop, administer and maintain quality procedures and activities required to continually ensure that the company’s processes and products are following applicable regulations and quality standards of both the company and customer requirements.

This position also provides quality systems support, development, training and continuous improvement of QMS Software programs this also includes AIM (Dashboards), etc for both Paumac Facilities.


Essential Functions:

  • Promote and execute quality standards, policies and procedures, test methodology, and quality plans
  • Create, modify and analyze manufacturing processes to identify quality problems, root cause, recommend corrective actions, and improve methods
  • Maintains and improves product quality by leading continuous improvement activities
  • Monitor needs of Quality Assurance employees, provide management and direction as needed to meet company and customer goals.
  • Hold monthly 1:1 meetings with key quality staff to review current performance and establish smart goals to meet Paumacs QMS objective. Communicate concerns and road blocks with Corporate Quality/Engineering Manager.
  • Manage and maintain relationships through effective communication and dialogue with all Paumac Departments.
  • Set quality standards as per customer specific requirements for Paumac North Carolinas product/processes. This includes performance in all areas of processing, production, and detail/final inspection.
  • Liaise with the customer, other staff and managers throughout the organization to ensure that the quality management system is compliant with the customer requirements.
  • Review customer specific requirements and change requests to ensure that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans.
  • Function as primary liaison for all quality programs. Participate in quote feasibility reviews as the key APQP Team Member. Provide support for APQP process development in the areas of statistical techniques, PPAP, MSA, APQP, Prototype or sample runs, gaging, training, and testing relating to the quality department.
  • Monitor department to ensure records and documentation in accordance with the quality manual and customer requirements are maintained.
  • Manage document control processes at the North Carolina facility for all QMS Documents and Quality Records. Work with the Corporate Quality/Engineering Manager on those corporate processes that may be impacted.
  • Perform internal audits, manage North Carolina internal auditors to ensure daily audits and PASUM Audits are completed, all processes and shifts are covered and any open action from audit are closed out in a timely manner.
  • Support team to assist in preparing documents and submit PPAP as required by the customer to meet AIAG and customer specific requirements.
  • Ensure quality standards for all processing/production operations affecting product quality are in place – work with teams to ensure SOWI’s and or details on routers/control plans are developed.
  • Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
  • Establish and maintain controls and documentation procedures
  • Work with operating staff to establish procedures, standards, and systems
  • Ensure Corrective Actions are established as needed, completed in detail, team involvement and validation of actions taken, Maintain CAR Records – KPI’s for this is CAPA Coverage, IPPM and EPPM.
  • Document, monitor and report key performances by gathering relevant data, as well as produce statistical reports. Delegate KPIs to Quality Staff, monitor updated on time for monthly reporting to management.
  • Help in the management and development of key systems to Paumac Quality Management System this includes Soft Expert, AIM, AIM Dashboards, etc. Development, Configuration, Implementation, update to QMS Documents, and training of processes.
  • Work with Paumac Management team to prioritize system implementations and training programs.
  • Work with IT to assign responsibility’s in order to eliminate duplication of efforts.
  • Provide Management with Qtrly reports of systems status, projects, etc.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Responsible for audit adherence with regulatory standards
  • Adhere to all company rules and policies
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
