Job DescriptionJob Description

Senior Manager for Billing and Collections is responsible for overlooking the Billing and Account Receivable (A/R) department and collection of past due accounts as well as analysis and reconciliation of accounts.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years management and supervision
  • Billing, Credit and Collection experience
  • Knowledge in Excel & Billing Medical Codes
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all echelons of management and contracting agencies
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Must have home & health care experience.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Monitors, responds and resolves account receivables issue with the contracts to ensure payments are within terms of contract.
  • Reviews reimbursement rates to ensure accuracy as per contract
  • Prepares monthly account receivable aging reports or as needed for discussion with CFO, COO & President.
  • Reviews & approves account receivable adjustments
  • Reviews, approves and submits write off request to CFO, COO & President prior to adjustment.
  • Assigns responsibilities for Billing, Account Receivable and Cash Application.
  • Ensure that claim resubmissions and appeals are done accordingly and timely
  • Communication with Collection Agency including maintaining legal collection file.
  • Decides which accounts are referred to legal and/or collections (subject to prior authorization by the President or CEO).
  • Prompt notification to CFO, COO, CEO and President on problem accounts.
  • Works with COO/Senior Vice President, Directors and Managers of Nursing on problem accounts.
  • Determines which private pay patients’ services will be terminated and discussing it with appropriate nursing staff to maintain safe transition of service.
  • Continuous monitoring of accounts to maintain currency
  • Conducts staff performance reviews on an annual basis.
  • Consistently review policies and procedures and suggest revisions accordingly.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Finance, CFO, CEO, COO, and President.
