Description: As a Compliance & Regulatory Paralegal at SafeTouch Security, you will support the business requirements for licensing, registrations, insurance compliance, commercial project compliance, and general risk management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain licenses and registrations for locations related to the presence of offices, customers, and employees. Calendar and monitor regulatory filing due dates.
- Research updates in regulations related to the alarm security industry.
- Manage insurance vendor relationships and renewals of insurance policies.
- Oversee insurance compliance, including workers compensation audits, OSHA compliance reporting, and renewal status vendor certificates of insurance.
- Ensure commercial project compliance with master agreements, licenses, and insurance verifications.
- Review commercial project contracts prior to execution and manage any review by outside counsel as necessary. Ensure contract compliance by submitting any forms required prior to job start.
- Coordinate with commercial project managers and contractors to ensure all necessary documents and plans are submitted for permit applications.
- Manage the timeline for commercial project permit acquisitions to ensure compliance with project schedules.
- Coordinate commercial project contractual requirements (e.g., performance guarantees, insurances, taxes, sureties) to achieve contract commitments.
- Assist as needed in preparing legal department policies and procedures and other documents to support the legal, compliance, and risk management functions.
- Maintains outside legal expense log and utilization analysis.
- Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple projects at one time.
- Collaborative team player who places a high priority on internal and external customer service.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certificate.
- Understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to licensing and permitting.
- Basic understanding of the role of the compliance function within a regulated industry
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 15 pounds occasionally. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Job Type: Full Time, exempt
Work Location: Remote or Hybrid. Must reside in FL within commuting distance to Orlando, Tampa, or Jacksonville. Headquarters in Jacksonville, FL. Must live within 1 hour of an airport.
