Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant with experience in Orthopedics to join our team at Royalty Medical Solutions. As a Medical Assistant in the Orthopedics department, you will play a crucial role in assisting our healthcare providers in providing exceptional orthopedic care to our patients. You will be responsible for a variety of clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of the department and delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

Clinical:

  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are well-stocked with necessary supplies and equipment
  • Escort patients to examination rooms and assist with patient assessments and procedures
  • Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
  • Assist healthcare providers with orthopedic procedures and treatments
  • Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing
  • Apply and remove casts and splints as directed by the healthcare provider
  • Ensure proper documentation and coding of orthopedic procedures and treatments
  • Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers or facilities as needed

Administrative:

  • Schedule patient appointments, surgeries, and follow-up visits
  • Manage medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations
  • Handle phone calls, inquiries, and requests from patients and their families
  • Assist with billing and coding tasks, ensuring compliance with regulatory and insurance requirements

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant program
  • Medical Assistant certification is preferred
  • Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in an orthopedic setting
  • Strong knowledge of orthopedic procedures, treatments, and anatomy
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages
  • Knowledge of medical billing and coding processes
