Job DescriptionJob Description

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for all basic accounting functions including monthly closing, fixed assets, reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. This is a full-time position and can only be performed in person.

Essential Functions:

  1. Input monthly journal entries.
  2. AP functions which include verifying costs, applying credits, and entry in system
  3. Assist with month/year end closing
  4. Prepare and review monthly loan sheet and reconcile to ledger balances, including account funding transfers.
  5. Retrieving daily banking information from the bank web site.
  6. Generate and review variance reports for accuracy and research discrepancies as required.
  7. Post daily cash deposits.
  8. Research and resolve account discrepancies, deductions, credits, allowances and violations.
  9. Communicate to Sales department on vendor allowances and outstanding AR issues.
  10. Prepare for and arrange monthly stewardship meeting with Manager.
  11. Complete general ledger account reconciliations.
  12. Communicate process improvements related to meeting company initiatives.
  13. Perform other duties or special projects as needed

Education:

Requires, at least, an Associate's degree in Accounting / Business Administration or a related field with at least 5 years of tangible work experience.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Business Administration or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

Requires a minimum of one to three years of accounting experience including general ledger closing, reconciliations, and Accounts Payable/Receivable processing. Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and Microsoft excel experience. Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
