Overview:

The purpose of the role of Service Desk Administrator is to provide business system support to the

company. This role requires a good working understanding of a variety of business systems. The job

function includes user support by telephone, email and face to face, as well as proactive system checks

and support processes along with project work. You will join a small team and liaise with external

suppliers and support organizations that help support the many different types of technology across the

estate. You'll act as a point of contact for service desk administration. Maintaining SLA’s, creating

knowledge, and asset management. This role will also be point of contact of assisting in Project

management tasks and problem solving for issues.


Key Responsibilities:


· Manage the IT service desk(s); Assets, Service desk team, tickets, Knowledge and SLA's

· Resolve basic IT issues involving hardware and software faults.

· Set up user profiles and client hardware for new employees.

· Maintain good channels of communication between the IT department and other departments

in the business.

· For more complex IT issues, gather evidence, research, and escalate these to senior members of

the team.

· Partake in IT projects, providing updates back to the line manager on progress and blockers.

· Support the IT team as and when required including ‘on call’ hours (this is on rota).

· Performing regular preventative maintenance on company hardware and software

· Monitor systems to maintain a high level of stability and availability.

· Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance.

· New user on-boarding processes - with associated end user briefing

· Basic user IT Training

· Document and establish policies and practices for effective and consistent operation.


Experience Desirable:


· Microsoft Active Directory

· Windows OS - Windows 10/11

· Microsoft Office 365

· Understanding of networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Firewalls, Switches, VPN, Wi-Fi)

· General IT infrastructure (hardware, databases, operating systems, local area networks etc.)

· Ability to communicate well with internal customers to provide a positive experience.

· Systematic way of thinking in their approach to solving IT issues

· Have the drive and willingness to learn and develop within the role.

· A natural intent to take good notes on actions and resolutions.
