Olathe, United States Midwest Marble & Granite Full time
Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCounter Top InstallerFrom $23 to $30 per hour (pay dependent on experience)Olathe, KS + Surrounding Areas

Midwest Marble & Granite is Olathe, KS’s premier granite and marble countertop provider. The company was founded by a countertop expert who wanted to provide clients with better service, higher levels of expertise, and a joyful experience. Many companies can cut, fabricate, and install countertops. Our #1 job at Midwest is helping homeowners fall back in love with their homes. We also enjoy helping designers, remodelers, and builders shine for their clients.  While many companies are shrinking and afraid to expand their outreach aggressively, we are not one of them. We are on a mission to help as many homeowners as possible now and in the future. Our foot is firmly on the gas pedal.  If you like a family atmosphere complete with fast-paced work and absolute accountability to each other, the clients, and the company owners, please carefully read the requirements for this position. If you feel you are qualified and would like to be considered for the position, please submit your resume along with the other required documents. Note: If you are coachable, likable, eager to learn, willing to work hard, enjoy working with your hands, and can see yourself being part of our dynamic team, you are encourage to apply for an installer assistant position. We have an apprentice program. We will give you the best training out there, but you must earn the right to be trained by our experts.  Requirements:
  • Coachable & willing to learn, grow, contribute
  • Accountable — We have key performance indicators (KPIs) for our installers, and you are expected to meet these standards. If you go above and beyond, please know that this will be highly regarded and recognized — monetarily and via a career path.
  • Be able to demonstrate your knowledge of handling, cleaning, installing, and touchups of stone products
  • Experience—We require 1+ years of successful experience in general construction (residential or commercial). If you have direct countertop installation experience, this is a plus. Your starting wage will be based on your level of experience and referrals/recommendations.
  • Experience using grinders and polishers
  • Effective, professional, and thoughtful communication (especially verbally) with our clients, your team, our suppliers, and our staff.
  • Technical/Mechanical — must have the ability to take accurate measurements using various tools and must be able to read basic plans.
  • Problem solver — must demonstrate the ability to solve problems in a way that ensures a happy long-term client and is as cost-effective as possible for the company. The ability to foresee and prevent problems is a big plus.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Familiarity with templating procedures using LT software is a huge plus.
  • Familiarity with EasedEdge software a huge plus.
  • Must provide 3+ work-related references that can be verified

  • Site prep (often includes tearouts), installation, finish, and cleaning of stone countertops, backsplashes, sinks, faucets, and other items as needed.
  • Communication with clients and office staff while onsite.
  • Upload progress and final pictures, make notes of work performed, and alert the operations manager or project manager of any issues or potential issues with the installation or client.
  • Work with your team in a professional and results-oriented manner.
  • Follow/execute work orders with minimal supervision, taking appropriate action to ask questions if things are unclear. Do not guess while onsite. This causes delays, costs more, and creates unnecessary conflict with the clients and your team.
  • Cleaning up after every visit. No trash, no screws/nails or hardware, no equipment or materials left behind.
  • Proper tracking of job time (time leaving office to arriving at the client and back to the office).
  • No smoking while onsite (in or around the site), no smoking in the vehicles, and no smoking, eating, or drinking in the client’s home.
