Tower Top Hand Job Description

At Congruex, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tower Top Hand to join our team. As a key member of our wireless construction team, you will be responsible for assisting the foreman in developing and planning complete site builds, identifying change orders, obstacles, and safety concerns that may impede the SOW timeline, and backing up the Tower Foreman as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hold the position of competent person onsite.
  • Lead by example and ensure all crew members are utilizing proper PPE.
  • Maintain a professional relationship towards employees, management, clients, tower owners, and the public.
  • Ensure all safety supplies, and first aid kits are available and in working order.
  • Ensure that rescue kits are ready and available, at the base of the tower, in case of emergency.
  • Ensure all employees maintain 100% tie off.
  • Ensure water is readily available for all crew members.
  • Deal with all weather conditions safely and responsibly.
  • Ensure all trash and debris is stored in a professional manner on site.
  • Allocate tasks to employees, ensuring construction is progressing at an appropriate pace and that quality work is being delivered to Congruex and industry standards.
  • Ensure all material and assets are available before construction start.
  • Deliver daily updates to project managers and ensure all close out documents are delivered to the appropriate Congruex staff.
  • Maintain accurate inspection of all ropes, rigging, and PFAS equipment before each use.
  • Ensure all crew members have the appropriate hours clocked onsite and approve time appropriately.
  • Maintain assigned vehicles and trailers and ensure they are in a professional/presentable condition.
  • Ensure company tools and test equipment are taken care of, accounted for, and stored properly.
  • Ensure a JSA is filled out every morning by all employees and all who are onsite.
  • Troubleshoot any issues by utilizing all test equipment.
  • Be proficient in the use of the capstan hoist and knowledgeable in rigging.
  • Be competent in reading and understanding construction drawings.
  • Log in and out with tower owners and clients, understanding the different policies associated with every tower owner and client, and abiding by all said policies.
  • Successfully train a Tower Tech 2 to be a Tower Top Hand.
  • Possess acceptable time management, people management, and leadership skills.
  • Continually show company support by following and enforcing all company policies and procedures.
  • Provide a quality install.
  • Be reliable and punctual.
  • Practice accurate timekeeping skills.
  • Timely complete credit card transactions.
  • Show a positive attitude, work well with the crew, uphold the highest safety measures, and promote the Congruex culture.
