Job Description: 

 

Clinical Service Leadership:

  • Coordinate the development of clinical philosophy and practice standards across essential disciplines within UCBC consistent with our mission and communicate the philosophy and strategies to executive, management, clinical and direct support staff
  • Provide clinical, operational and strategic leadership necessary to deliver high-value care that is financially feasible and sustainable
  • Direct and Lead the delivery of clinical services across all UCBC service locations
  • Develop an Annual Plan for services and review program progress.  Review and respond to legal concerns or request regarding clinical services
  • Ensures compliance with regulations and with clinic standards of quality patient care
  • Develop, implement and monitor clinical programs that add and expand integrated services with other departments within UCBC
  • Provide leadership and oversight over the development of a competency-based clinical development and training program for all clinical staff

Management and Mentorship:

  • Create a work climate that emphasizes collective team performance and demonstrates UCBC’s core competencies
  • Establish staffing requirements for recruitment, selection and placement of personnel
  • Evaluate performance and competency of assigned staff within required and assigned time frames and standards
  • Coach employees on assigned areas of responsibility
  • Ensure staff compliance with policies and procedures through utilization of training resources and disciplinary process
  • Monitor and positively affect employee morale
  • Implement progressive discipline up to and including termination of assigned employees
  • Coordinate and lead regular staff meetings
  • Evaluate progress toward meeting team/program goals

Coordination and Communication:

  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with UCBC staff and supervisors, as well as external contacts
  • Build and maintain a strong network of external relationships with referral sources
  • Interface with and support other UCBC services
  • Serve on various committees, as assigned

 

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Address the requirements of Medicaid, Medicare, etc., as applicable to management position
  • Timely completion of all required unit and/or organizational reports and/or documentation according to policies and procedures (e.g. Time Off Request, Expense Sheets, Training Request, TB documentation and CME request)

 

Professional Development:

  • Complete and maintain compliance with required trainings and education required for the position
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance professional and job-related skills
  • Attend community education events/seminars to continue developing expertise in the field and improve important professional relationships
  • Successfully acquire and maintain Oncology Certified Nurse Certification, per position requirements
  • Participate in appropriate team and/or administrative meetings, assigned committees, in services, and other continuing education/training
  • Participate in preparation and monitoring of an annual budget and development of the Annual Strategic Plan, as applicable

Education

  • Required minimum bachelor's degree in business administration, health administration, medicine or nursing
