Position Overview: We are seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in estimating for multifamily construction projects, preferably with a background in commercial general contracting. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and competitive project estimates while supporting our growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the estimating efforts for multifamily housing projects using our panel-based building system.
  • Work closely with the sales, engineering, and production teams to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive bid proposals.
  • Manage the entire bid process including initial review, cost analysis, and final submission, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to determine scope of work and estimate costs for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Utilize historical data and industry benchmarks to enhance estimating accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the estimating team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on multifamily projects.
  • Profound understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost estimating techniques.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools; familiarity with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar programs preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with a proven track record of building strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
