POSITION OVERVIEW: Account Executives are responsible for identification, development and sale of the Company’s products and services. Account Executives will work with the management to develop strategies and tactics for account penetration and product solutions.

 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may also be assigned. Please note that the essential functions may vary depending on department size and/or geographic location.

 

  • Identifying, qualifying and developing target prospects
  • Developing accounts from initial contact through needs analysis, account strategic development, product demonstration, proposal, bid and installation
  • Making calls to all buyer levels within an organization to determine use and needs
  • Determining buying cycle through contract calendar
  • Responsible for specific unit and volume based sales goals on a quarterly review basis for products, maintenance agreements and services
  • Being responsible to develop, track and report all furnished leads, completing activity report, and reporting sales, etc. as required
  • Work with appropriate management to determine pricing and margins for all business being developed
  • Be responsible for continuing development of follow-on business from current customers
  • Continuing education on both a personal and professional level including maintaining current product knowledge of security and control systems being offered by competitors
  • Plans, schedules, and directs frequent customer sales appointments with emphasis on:
  • Information on products, systems and services
  • Training
  • Product application
  • Ensures that all information/specifications necessary to complete bid are acquired from customer. Prepares all security-related bids.
  • Maintains sound, continuing working relationships with client organizations
  • Attends industry and trade association meetings as company representative, plans, set up and staff company-sponsored sales booths at trade conventions, as directed by the Sales Manager

 

SUPERVISORY DUTIES: In accordance with applicable policies/procedures and Federal/State laws, may perform the following supervisory responsibilities: Interviewing, hiring orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location.

 

Knowledge:

- Three - five years of business-to-business executive level sales experience

- Knowledge and expertise of video surveillance, access control, AV, and structured cabling systems

- Knowledge and expertise of computer hardware and peripherals including Windows OS, Excel, MS Office

- Bachelor's Degree desirable

 

 

Skills/Abilities:

- Attainment of sales volume and cultivation of territory potential

- Achievement of sales goals including service contracts

- Development and continued maintenance of strong relationships with accounts

- Sound judgment and adherence to policy on expenses

- Timely, accurate and efficient handling of paperwork

- Successful track record selling services or product solutions to decision-makers in facilities, purchasing, human resources, finance and administration in corporate environments

- Well-developed sales skills in prospecting, qualifying, and closing, gained through experience as well as a formal sales training program

- A professional business image and well-developed presentation skills are a must

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to see, hear, speak and write clearly in order to communicate with employees and/or other customers; manual dexterity required for occasional reaching and lifting of small objects, and operating office equipment.
  • Position will require travel in relation to the demands of the clients, divisional resources and the growth of the Global Accounts Program.

  • The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate.
