Engineering Manager

Direct Hire
Salary: $90-$120k (open to discuss depends on experience)
Monday – Friday.  7am – 4pm

Scope of Responsibility

The Engineering Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, leading and controlling all activities required to provide products that meet customer requirements, cost restrictions and quality standards. This includes providing documentation and support to all departments during development, production, sale and service of the products.

Specific Duties

· Participate in LT (Leadership Team) as a manager of Engineering

· Create and execute yearly Strategic Business Plan with Controller and General Manager

· Develop and work within a reasonable budget

· Manage research and development projects with other managers and researching new technologies/methods for department use

· Manage a group of mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure all tasks are completed by providing leadership, motivation, training, inspiration and direction. Work to create standard drawings.

· Monitoring employees to ensure that department goals are being met

· Create, maintain and enforce departmental policies, including S.O.P.’s

· Maintain an understanding of market and competition activities and update sales staff as needed

· Execute performance appraisals, reward excellence and discipline when necessary

· Act as an entrepreneur of the department and pursue profitable ventures, including increasing our product footprint and systems for our customers in the future

· Have a thorough understanding of the Company’s ERP System, and help provide direction to the IT team on adding configurable product lines to system

· Responsible for manufacturing engineering to streamline production

· Assist in AutoCAD and SolidWorks design as needed during peak order timeframes

· Assist Sales department in costing, conference calls, travel to customers and trade shows as needed

Position Requirements

· Bachelors Degree in an Engineering Related Field (Master’s preferred)

· 7+ years’ experience in an Engineering Related Field

· 5+ years’ experience in Management

· Experience with a manufacturing ERP system (M1 preferred)
