Job Summary:

The Purchasing Coordinator will ensure prompt delivery of materials and services by communicating with vendors on the status of orders and eliminating difficulties and delays.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Purchases goods according to the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates with Managers to maintain inventory levels
  • Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history
  • Ensures that purchasing documents are complete, accurate and include reasonable terms and conditions
  • Maintains pricing history and other vendor records
  • Research vendors and collects prices, specifications, and other data related to goods and services.
  • Responds to and resolves administrative inquiries and questions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have electrical distribution experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Thorough understanding of materials and services used by the company
  • Thorough understanding of purchasing policies and procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
  • Ability to work independently.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Three to five years of tangible experience in a Purchasing role, preferably within the construction industry.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
