Established real estate litigation firm with offices in Irvine seeks a law office assistant. Attention to detail and willingness to learn. Prior law office experience is ideal. An ideal candidate is a recent college graduate planning on attending law school in the future, or someone with prior law office experience who is looking for a longer term opportunity. Competitive typing speed and proficiency using MS Office Suite, Lexis-Nexis and other legal software applications.

The position is a critical member of the team who supports attorneys in their practice by assisting in the preparation, service and filing of legal documents, maintaining files and calendars and performing general administrative and clerical duties. The candidate must have excellent problem solving and multi-tasking skills. Basic math proficiency is helpful.

Responsibilities include:

Answering phones and speaking with clients, opposing counsel, experts, etc.

Maintain attorney calendars

Ability to work in a small but busy firm environment

Filing in State and Federal Courts (including e-filing and bookmarking)

Creating, editing, and finalizing litigation documents and correspondence

Knowledge of discovery procedures and deadlines and proficiency with discovery

Proficiency with case management software

Professional demeanor and ability to work well with attorneys and clients

Schedule hearings and meetings

Process billing

Pay rate depends on experience
