Penasquitos Pet Clinic is looking for an experience Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to join our team. We are a small, family-owned practice that provides high-quality care for both animals and people. We are looking for someone who is passionate about animals and loves working with people.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be willing to work any day Monday-Friday. 8- and 10-hour shift options. No requirement to work Sat/Sun
- 1-2 years' experience in the veterinary field as an assistant, receptionist experience also preferred.
- Able to commit to a set work schedule.
- Have reliable transportation to and from work.
Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service and patient care to our clientele. Must understand basic veterinary terminology, able to dictate information from veterinarians, confident with reviewing estimates and treatment plans with clientele, clientele education, SQ, IM, IV injections, and blood draws, good with patient restraint.
- Able to work with urgent or emergency cases when the situation arise.
- Provide veterinary care such as medication administration, in house diagnostics, and treatment.
- Assist Veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation (including patient charts)
- Ability to present clientele with treatment plans and estimates with confidence and kindness.
- Excellent customer service and phone etiquette.
- Work as a member of a team and develop professional relationships
- Experience with Veterinary Software preferred. We are currently on a paperless platform.
