MAIN NEEDS:

  • We are seeking a driven, enthusiastic leader with a strong benefit accounting background to oversee our Benefits Finance team. The primary responsibility of this role will be to enable the team to improve business performance, operational effectiveness, process efficiencies, reconcile benefits, insurance planning and benefits commission.
  • Experience using PrismHR and/or Sage Intacct accounting a plus.
  • PEO experience.
  • Must work with the Technology, Operations, and Accounting team to define requirements for and implement a new benefits reconciliation application; and being the product owner for the application once installed.

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for the reconciliation of benefit invoices from carriers to deduction reports and the general ledger.

· Supervise and train staff in preparation of benefit reconciliation analysis.

· Assist and supervise the review, research, and resolution of monthly billing discrepancies.

· Verify the calculation of monthly premium statements for all group insurance.

· Communicate verbally and in writing with various departments regarding reconciliations, as well as clients, when necessary, to resolve discrepancies.

· Monitor changes in client employer/employee deductions and premiums by reviewing policies and enrollments.

· Oversee the relationship between finance and third-party reconciliation teams in India and Honduras.

· Act as liaison between carriers, employees, and clients.

· Acts as liaison between Benefits, Payroll and Finance with respect to benefit plan invoices and reconciliations.

· Partner with internal operating teams to ensure new products flow through the systems properly.

· Create, review, and approve general ledger reconciliations, and journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting practices.

· Partner with internal team member to ensure any issues are addressed timely.

· Review how the data flows through the financial systems and recommend and implement enhancements.

· Create documentation/SOPs for the reconciliation process.

· Responsible for the accuracy of benefits commissions.

· Provide other analytical, accounting, and financial support on an as needed basis.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

· 5++ years of relevant experience with a minimum of 2 years in a Professional Employer Organization (PEO).

· Hands-on/in-depth experience with benefit reconciliation process.

· Knowledge of accounts payable and general ledger accounting.

· Strong accounting background in benefit accounting.
