Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

Reports To: Manager of Materials and Shipping

Summary: The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor role is responsible for leading the Shipping/Receiving team. They will drive success in Shipping and Receiving activities to meet Paslin company objectives and our customer’s shipping objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead employees through effective communication, orientation, coaching, training, and development. Communicate areas of accountability and performance expected of employees. Recommend hiring, salary adjustments, transfers, discipline, promotions and dismissals in consultation with Human Resources
  2. Prepare documents for shipment including Bill of Lading, any export documentation, packing lists, photos of shipments and any other documentation required
  3. They will work closely with project management to determine method of shipment and number of trucks.
  4. Ensure materials is unpacked and examined upon incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
  5. Route items to departments
  6. Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
  7. Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  8. May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments
  9. Support the manufacturing strategy and continually drive efforts to streamline shipping and receiving activities
  10. Hold team members accountable through established key performance indicators and targets
  11. Understand company policies and procedures and ensure team adheres to these
  12. Ensure compliance with safety procedures
  13. Manage employees time by ensuring accuracy calculating and submitting in a timely manner
  14. All other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  1. 5+ years of related Shipping & Receiving experience
  2. 2+ years of previous leadership experience
  3. High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  4. Experience with receiving international shipments.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  6. Strong written and oral communication skills
  7. High regard for safety standards
  8. Strong organizational and leadership skills

Work Environment: This position operates in both an office environment and plant environment.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and twist. Frequently required to lift/push/pull up to 50lbs.

Expected Hours of Work: This position regularly requires daily overtime hours and frequent weekend work.

Direct Reports: This position has 2-5 direct reports.
