Job Overview: Surge Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and organized HR Benefits Administrator to join our Human Resources team. The HR Benefits Administrator will be responsible for overseeing the administration of employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with policies, and managing benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations. This role requires a strong understanding of benefits regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidential information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits coverage, eligibility, and claims.
  • Collaborate with insurance providers and brokers to negotiate competitive benefit plans and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate open enrollment activities and provide support to employees during the enrollment process.
  • Maintain accurate benefits records in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and ensure data integrity.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to benefits administration (e.g., ACA, HIPAA).
  • Assist in the development and communication of benefits information to employees.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to benefits billing, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Conduct benefits orientations for new hires and provide ongoing education to employees regarding their benefits options.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in HR benefits administration or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and integrity.
  • Certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in HR
  • Detail-oriented and organizational nature
  • Experience working with ADP software a plus
  • Understanding federal HR laws, Unemployment, and FMLA
