The HR Benefits Administrator will be responsible for overseeing the administration of employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with policies, and managing benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations. This role requires a strong understanding of benefits regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidential information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Serve as the main point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits coverage, eligibility, and claims.
- Collaborate with insurance providers and brokers to negotiate competitive benefit plans and resolve issues.
- Coordinate open enrollment activities and provide support to employees during the enrollment process.
- Maintain accurate benefits records in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and ensure data integrity.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to benefits administration (e.g., ACA, HIPAA).
- Assist in the development and communication of benefits information to employees.
- Handle administrative tasks related to benefits billing, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Conduct benefits orientations for new hires and provide ongoing education to employees regarding their benefits options.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in HR benefits administration or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs and regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented and able to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and integrity.
- Certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in HR
- Detail-oriented and organizational nature
- Experience working with ADP software a plus
- Understanding federal HR laws, Unemployment, and FMLA
