Due to the continued success of the business our client is now looking for a Maintenance & Reliability Supervisor to join their established team in Burlington, WA.

Position Summary:

The Maintenance and Reliability Supervisor oversees the planning, organization, scheduling, assignment, and review of maintenance tasks, along with various supervisory duties related to maintenance activities. This role also involves training, supervision, and evaluation of employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Introduce new equipment technologies to enhance manufacturing and quality, encompassing upgrades, process innovations, tooling, and manufacturing methods.
  • Supervise and strategize the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and processes within the facility.
  • Coordinate product and process design alterations, consulting with management, production, and marketing/sales teams to discuss project specifications and procedures.
  • Evaluate technology, resources, market demands, and customer needs to plan and assess project feasibility.
  • Undertake administrative tasks such as report reviewing and writing, rule enforcement, and assisting in material or service procurement decisions.
  • Present and elucidate proposals, reports, and findings internally and externally.
  • Contribute to the procurement of maintenance materials and external technical services in line with company protocols.
  • Aid in establishing and executing a systematic preventive maintenance program with the Maintenance and Reliability Manager.
  • Investigate equipment failures and unexpected breakdowns, providing corrective actions to enhance reliability and performance.
  • Supervise preventive and predictive maintenance plans utilizing automated software packages.
  • Monitor parts requests to ensure optimal inventory levels and cost efficiency according to departmental budgets.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, providing management with regular updates on progress.
  • Ensure equipment and processes operate optimally at all times.
  • Offer technical support to the production team and fulfill other tasks as required.
  • Facilitate the selection of appropriate resources (contractors, suppliers, etc.) to minimize costs and ensure timely, budget-compliant completion.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements and foster team motivation and morale.
  • Minimize the risk of accidents and environmental pollution.

Skills:

  • Profound knowledge of engineering principles encompassing electrical, mechanical, and robotics systems.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, electrical/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, and ladder/function block logic.
  • Familiarity with industrial PCs and PLCs (e.g., Siemens Step 7, Beckhoff Twin Cat) and electric circuitry components.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills with effective interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Capacity to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Traits:

  • Detail-oriented individual adept at time and project management.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Experience working with ABB robots preferred.
  • Experience in highly automated environments preferred.
  • Some fabrication experience preferred.
