In your capacity as the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, you will manage maintenance activities to guarantee the smooth and continuous operation of all machinery and facilities. You will lead a team of maintenance professionals tasked with providing technical support in the design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of equipment, enhancing the efficiency and safety of our production processes. Your responsibilities will include identifying and planning repairs, maintenance, and enhancements for processes and facilities. You will work closely with our engineering, research and development, and production teams to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management

  • Leadership: Direct a team of maintenance professionals in the design, testing, and troubleshooting of equipment to improve manufacturing efficiency and safety.
  • Task Coordination: Communicate schedules, tasks, and job requirements, prioritizing and organizing the team's workload while ensuring accountability.
  • Performance Evaluation: Assess and document individual and team performance, providing ongoing feedback through coaching, mentoring, and formal evaluations.
  • Issue Resolution: Lead complex problem-solving initiatives, guiding staff in addressing routine challenges and ensuring thorough root cause analysis.
Strategic Leadership
  • Cultural Development: Foster an inclusive and supportive work environment through active relationship-building across shifts and departments. Provide technical support and skill development for manufacturing and maintenance staff.
  • Project Oversight: Manage maintenance-related projects, aligning departmental strategies with the broader organizational goals.
  • Financial Oversight: Administer departmental budgets, ensuring financial targets are met while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
  • Policy Implementation: Ensure the fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.
  • Values Advocacy: Represent and promote the organization's mission, principles, vision, and B Corp certification values.
Maintenance Operations
  • Project Management: Direct maintenance projects, coordinating the design, modification, adaptation, and installation of process equipment to ensure timely completion.
  • Performance Assessment: Monitor equipment and process performance, initiating corrective actions to address issues and rectify deficiencies.
  • Safety and Compliance: Integrate sanitary design and food safety into all projects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and procedures; comply with all safety regulations to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with contractors, equipment suppliers, and service vendors to support project initiatives.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other duties that directly contribute to the organization's objectives.
Qualifications:

What You Will Need:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant maintenance or engineering experience, ideally in food manufacturing; at least 3 years of experience managing maintenance and/or engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with engineering software (e.g., PLC programming, CAD, DOE).
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

This role operates within a three-shift manufacturing environment. Occasional off-shift support may be necessary, and regular weekend work could be required. The position involves working in an office, maintenance shop, and production area, with exposure to varying temperatures, including heat and cold. Responsibilities include the use of power and fabrication tools, and exposure to metal, oil, and electrical currents. The role requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing/pulling, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
