Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor - Operations Leader

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor - Operations Leader is responsible for overseeing the maintenance team to ensure a safe and efficient 24/7 manufacturing environment. This role involves planning, organizing, and scheduling maintenance work, as well as training, supervising, and evaluating the work of employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance: Identify, modify, adjust, and repair mechanical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic parts and equipment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Read and interpret technical drawings or diagrams, including blueprints, schematics, and mechanical renditions.
  • Tool Operation: Utilize a variety of power tools, hand tools, gauging, and measuring equipment safely and correctly.
  • Reliability Improvement: Thoroughly understand and demonstrate the ability to improve equipment reliability to minimize downtime, improve efficiencies, and produce a high-quality product to specification in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Purchasing and Inventory: Participate in purchasing maintenance materials and outside technical services in accordance with established company protocol and procedures.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Assist in the establishment and implementation of a systematic preventative maintenance program with the Maintenance and Reliability Manager.
  • Equipment Failure Investigation: Investigate equipment failures and unexpected breakdowns, providing corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.
  • Parts Management: Monitor parts requests to ensure adequate inventory and cost efficiencies are being met according to departmental budget.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead maintenance-related CI tasks, reporting back to management with status updates.
  • Resource Selection: Facilitate the selection of appropriate resources (contractors, suppliers, etc.) to minimize costs and ensure on-time and on-budget completion.
  • Legislative Compliance: Ensure, enforce, and adhere to all legislative requirements.
  • Team Motivation: Constantly enhance the motivation and team-spirit of all operation staff.
  • Accident Prevention: Minimize the risk of accidents and pollution.

Requirements:

  • Engineering Knowledge: Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, mechanical, and robotics systems.
  • Technical Skills: Able to read wiring diagrams, electrical/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, and ladder/function block logic.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Math Skills: Proficient in general math skills, including fractions and decimals.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work cross-functionally with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Industrial Knowledge: Working knowledge of industrial PCs and PLCs (Siemens Step 7, Beckhoff Twin Cat) and electric circuitry, preferred.

Education and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical technology, mechatronics, engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 5 years or more experience in a maintenance supervisory position.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Experience in highly automated manufacturing environments.
  • Robotics Experience: Experience in working with ABB robots, preferred.
  • Fabrication Experience: Some fabrication experience, preferred.
