Quality Inspector


Objective:
This role will ensure the control, inspection and reporting of product built or received and provide production/manufacturing support in order to achieve the functional as well as project objectives.

Role & Responsibilities:
The Quality Inspector ensures the compliance of products and parts received and delivered. He / She performs inspections, checks, type tests, and sampling procedures according to the applicable instructions on products ready for delivery and on products during their manufacturing process. He / She validates manufacturing control plans.

Main responsibilities are:
In-process Inspection of components and assemblies to established criteria and specifications.

·        Record and report the inspection status of components and assemblies, using various tools to measure parts.

·        Perform Non-destructive examination when required and qualified.

·        Maintain inspection/manufacturing records.

·        Initiate NCRs for non-compliant product and processes and actively participate in the follow up and resolution

·        Report quality activities to the Quality Manager recommend corrective and preventive action.

·        Support Quality Manager in resolution of quality training, and safety issues.

·        Participate in customer source inspections/audits.

·        Problem solving between multiple departments and customer representatives.

·        Review past inspection data for critical information, repeat defects or problem areas.

·        Participate in quality initiatives and/or special projects/assignments as required and/or directed.

·        Perform the duties associated with Measurement tools and test equipment calibration.

·        Review receiving/process traveler for pertinent data.

·        Approve rework, waivers and dispositions.

·        Initiate appropriate quality improvement actions in support of project's quality objectives.

·        Other responsibilities, in addition to those mentioned above, as assigned by supervisor/manager.


Qualifications / Experience
4+ years quality inspection experience within manufacturing industry
Must be able to read blueprints and familiar with a variety of test equipment
Experience in quality internal/external audit are appreciated
Rail Experience would be a plus

Competencies & Skills
Proficient with MS Office
Fluent in English
Knowledge of Quality standard (ISO 9001) and quality tools
Experience in operational activities and in documentation management
Collaboration and working as a team
