Manufacturing Engineer Planner

JOB SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineer - Planner is responsible for determining part manufacturing processes and documenting work instructions clearly in order to walk an operator through the build process. The Manufacturing Engineer - Planner enters and maintains information within the ERP system while performing labor time studies, maintaining job cost data, and analyzing material usage as well as tracking status of projects through completion.

The Manufacturing Engineer - Planner reports to the Engineering Manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION
Education, Training, and/or Experience
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Associate’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or related field (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
- Experience in Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
- Regularly required to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Frequently required to use eye-hand coordination, repetitive hand movements and manual dexterity to handle
- Occasionally required to bend, reach to shoulder level and lift, carrying, pushing and/or pulling up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Hearing level within normal/average range
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Competent with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
- High degree of initiative, personal responsibility, and ability to plan
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with manufacturing operations and processes (i.e., composite part fabrication, machining, assembly, finishing)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Review tools, engineering and customer specifications
- Plan sequence of fabrication or assembly and related composite manufacturing operations
- Translate engineering intent and drawings into detailed manufacturing work instructions
- Provide production operators with all instructions and specifications necessary to effectively fabricate quality composite parts
- Research and incorporate engineering and/or purchase order changes into manufacturing plans
- Resolve customer and supplier issues surrounding quality, tooling and engineering specifications and interpretations
- Plan and track status of projects through completion
- Coordinate and facilitate project review meetings
- Interpret and apply quality requirements regulated by customer and industry specifications
- Communicate with Production team regarding needs for adjustment in planning and/or written procedures
- Other duties as assigned
