Role Description

The VP of Finance/Operations is an integral part of the management team, reporting directly to the President/CEO. The VP of Finance/Operations will manage all aspects of accounting, including operations. The VP of Finance/Operations should promote a positive, productive, and professional working environment, engaging in the practice of cooperation, understanding, respect, and sensitivity for coworkers and members of the credit union.

 

Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects and phases of the accounting, investments and financial transactions done in departments of the credit union.

Coordinates and assists in maintaining an ongoing training program for staff.

Conducts regular meetings with financial staff to maintain consistency in policies and procedures, as well as overall communications between employees and management.

Research, recommends, develops, and implements new programs and procedures beneficial to the improvement of services to members and operations.

In absence of the President/CEO, may assume functions and responsibilities of the President/CEO.

Qualifications:

BA in business management, finance or accounting, or a substantial amount of related supervisory work experience to substitute for degree requirements.

Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication, management, and problem-solving skills.

Experience:

Should have a broad and complete knowledge of the principles and regulations of credit union accounting.
