Job DescriptionJob Description

Position Summary: Merchants Metals is seeking to hire a salesperson to grow and manage customers within a sales territory while providing outstanding service to assigned accounts. The inside sales representative will help identify opportunities to increase sales in an assigned customer base and conduct outbound calls to prospect new customers. The Inside Sales Representative will report to a Branch Manager and work closely with personnel in the branch and across the organization. 

Role Objectives: 

  1. Drive sales with assigned  customers by deepening relationships and generating opportunities through outbound calling, scheduled calls, and select in-person visits when appropriate. 

  2. Identify, qualify, and close prospects that fit FSG’s ideal customer profile. 

  3. Support assigned customers, individually and with other branch roles, by providing  outstanding service, quoting, and order completion

Preferred Qualifications: 

The successful candidate must have the following experience and capabilities:

1. Highly motivated, self-starter with good time management skills

2. Strong communication and customer service skills

3. Comfortable with complex ERP systems

4. A desire to drive aggressive growth and hit sales targets 

5. A broad understanding of the fencing industry 

6. Strong phone communication skills 

7. High school diploma required

8. 1-2 years of proven experience as an Inside Sales Representative or in other sales, customer service, or phone-based role
