Commercial Account Executive – 100% Remote (San Jose, CA)
We are currently looking for a Commercial Account Executive to join an industry-leading insurance brokerage, and manage a middle market book of accounts. This fully remote role is open to professionals based in Northern California, and offers a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on client relationships while being supported by a strong team.
In this role, you'll have access to a dedicated Account Manager and Commercial Assistant to manage the day-to-day servicing, enabling you to focus on developing client strategies and enhancing business growth.
Location: San Jose, CA (100% Remote)
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $150,000
- Performance-based bonus opportunities
- Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, FSA, 401k, and wellness programs

Key Responsibilities:
- Build and execute strategies for client retention during renewals
- Identify cross-sell opportunities to introduce additional lines of business to current clients
- Collaborate with clients to collect necessary data for renewal submissions
- Lead presentations to both current and potential clients
- Assess clients’ exposure to operational, contractual, and financial risks
- Create and maintain financial models, particularly for loss-sensitive insurance programs
- Analyze and review insurance policies to ensure proper coverage
- Work closely with internal teams, including your Account Manager and Commercial Assistant, to ensure seamless service delivery
- Develop client service plans in coordination with claims and loss control teams
- Provide stewardship reports with actionable insights from client feedback
- Manage accounts receivable and facilitate timely payments from clients
- Oversee and mentor a team of Account Managers and Assistants, contributing to their professional growth
- Take charge of renewal strategies, collaborating with producers, internal teams, and clients
- Provide internal education to ensure the team stays current on industry trends and best practices
- Develop and deliver client presentations on topics such as risk management and program-specific insurance options
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial lines brokerage, with a preference for 10+ years in the industry
- In-depth knowledge of property and casualty coverages, and a plus if experienced in real estate, non-profits, and healthcare accounts.
- Experience working with loss-sensitive casualty programs and captives is a plus
- Strong skills in client relationship management and strategic advising
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for financial modeling
- Ability to travel domestically for client meetings and industry events as required
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred
- Current Property & Casualty insurance license preferred
