Local DFW pathology laboratory is currently seeking an experienced A/R Billing Collections Specialist to join our growing team of experts in a fast-paced, dynamic medical/healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, with the skills necessary to improve our current billing procedures and reduce A/R days. The successful applicant will work on a number of tasks requiring data analysis, in-depth evaluation, and exercising judgment within the appropriate scope of practice.

 

Work Schedule: Full-time/Mon-Fri schedule

 

 

Essential Job Duties:

• Bill and submit clean claims.

• Resubmit denied claims to ensure maximum reimbursement for services provided.

• Follow-up on missed payments and resolve financial discrepancies.

• Investigate and appeal denied claims.

• Support to Customer Services team assisting patients with billing issues, processing payments, payment plans, and other requests.

• Work with the management team to stay updated on insurance knowledge and be informed of

any changes in company policies.

• Other duties as assigned

Minimal Job Qualifications:

· Strong billing background of 3+ years

· Attentive to detail with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

· Demonstrated organization and planning abilities.

· Ability to exercise effective decision-making in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to communicate professionally both verbal and written with people at all levels of the organization.

· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing accuracy.

· Familiar with laboratory billing and CPT coding. (Preferred)

 

Education/Training/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Self-starter/self-motivated

• 3+ years’ experience in the medical laboratory/billing industry

• ICD-10/CPT knowledge/experience

• Strong typing/data entry skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

• Able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines

• Excellent problem-solving skills

 Work Environment:

• This position is office-based.

• Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines.
