We are seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our Laboratory team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administration, as well as familiarity with laboratory protocols.

Pay/Hours

  • Pay will be starting at $25/hr. to be hired in at a higher rate and with full benefits
  • Hours: 8am-4:30pm but subject to change

Job Description

  • Word processing, filing, faxing, answering phones, receiving and directing visitors, scheduling, financial record keeping, coordinating meetings and conferences, obtaining supplies and sorting/distributing mail.
  • May work on special projects.
  • Strong communication skills and organizational skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with MS Office required.
  • Familiar with standard laboratory techniques and safety procedures.
  • Knowledgeable in scientific concepts, measures, and terminology.
  • Able to understand and apply specific laboratory protocols.
  • Procures, labels, routes and tracks specimens.
  • Performs routine laboratory functions including maintaining equipment, preparing lab materials and supporting experiments as needed.
  • Accurately conduct specified tests, documents findings in a detailed manner and compiles data for reporting of results.
  • Performs QA/QC duties as required. Prepares solutions and mixtures.
  • Calibrates, maintains and repairs equipment in the lab within manufacturer's guidelines.
